Together/Apart was created as a reaction to the 2020 global pandemic. The artwork is a reflection and introspection on the covid-19 pandemic and our response as individuals and community. This wall installation is hand cut and painted with an ink wash. The entire artwork is cut out of a single piece of paper. Framing each body is a silhouette defined by a specific cut to define individuality. But even as individuals, we are bound by forces beyond our control and that was the premise of this work. The artwork is backlit to highlight individual personalities, unique components that come together to create a unified whole.
